Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.

How I found it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before every slip, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you drop in stake and odds and it shows the return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I always lose track. If you want a look, it’s here what is a trixie bet? — free, no signup.

The thing that genuinely made a difference is the geekier tools. There’s an odds-to-probability converter which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. The design looks a bit basic — no flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable but the acca grid are a squeeze. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.

Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you even now adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

I really like how the writer keeps the tone friendly without sounding fake or overly polished, and after a stop at thebattlebeginsmerchandise the same calm pace was there, no rushing to make a point and no padding either, just clean honest writing that I can respect and come back to later again.

High quality writing, no marketing speak and no buzzwords that mean nothing, and a stop at zavirolinecore kept that going, simple direct content that actually communicates something is harder to find than it should be and this is one of the rare places that gets it right consistently across many different posts.

Now feeling confident enough in this site to use it as a reference point for evaluating others on the same topic, and a look at xelarionet continued the comparison friendly quality, sites that serve as quality benchmarks for their topic are precious and this one has clearly become a benchmark for me on this particular subject area.

Right — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. I’m UK based, generally bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.

How I found it was actually embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — you drop in the price and your stake and you get the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at trixie calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

The thing that actually changed how I bet were the more serious bits. The probability converter which shows you the overround, and a kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The interface is pretty plain — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it works although the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame just flagging it.

So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you still does the maths on paper, try it — saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

Found this via a link from another piece I was reading and the click was worth it, and a stop at captchathedog extended the value across more material, the open web still rewards clicking through citations when the underlying writers care about each other work and this site clearly belongs to that network.
