So — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mainly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. Now stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows the return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at betting percentage calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that really changed how I bet was the more serious extras. The implied probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The layout is very functional, let’s say — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the acca grid are a squeeze. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who even now does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
